Best shipping platforms for eCommerce in Europe (2026)
Qapla', Sendcloud, nShift, ShipStation, Shippo and AfterShip compared: business model, carriers, published prices and who each shipping platform suits.
Labels and couriersCosts and invoices
A shipping platform connects your online shop and marketplaces to your couriers and follows every order from label to delivery. The right choice depends mostly on one thing: whether you want to use your own courier contracts or buy shipments at rates someone else has negotiated.
In this guide we compare shipping software that eCommerce businesses selling in Europe often consider: what each one is, how it works and who it suits. Qapla’ is one of them, and we say so upfront: for the others we only report what they state on their official websites.
In short: which one to choose
- You already have courier contracts and want to manage delivery too (tracking, branded notifications, returns, invoice checks): a shipping platform such as Qapla’.
- You want ready-made rates or a mix of rates and your own contracts: Sendcloud, ShipStation or Shippo, which offer their own discounted rates.
- You are a large shipper with complex delivery networks: an enterprise delivery management platform such as nShift.
- Your focus is the post-purchase experience (tracking pages, notifications, returns): a post-purchase suite such as AfterShip.
Platform, broker or order management system: the difference
- Shipping platform: software that works with the contracts you already have with couriers. It prints labels, tracks shipments, notifies customers and helps control costs. You pay for the software; you pay the courier at your own rates.
- Shipping broker or reseller: sells you the shipment at its own rate, negotiated on the volume of all its customers. Convenient if you have no contracts; the courier relationship goes through them.
- Order management system or ERP with a shipping module: built to manage orders, stock and marketplaces; shipping is one part of it.
Many tools are hybrid: they sell their own rates and also let you connect your own carrier accounts.

How to choose: 7 questions
- Your own contracts or ready-made rates? This is what separates platforms from brokers. With your own contracts you keep your terms and a direct relationship with the courier.
- How many couriers do you need, and for what? Label printing and tracking coverage are different numbers: check that the couriers you use today, and those you may add, are covered.
- Branded tracking and emails? A tracking page and notifications with your logo cut “where is my order” contacts and bring customers back to your site.
- How do you handle returns? A portal where customers open the return and get the label themselves saves everyone time.
- Do you check courier invoices and surcharges? They are the cost that slips through most often: check whether the platform compares invoices with your contract.
- Does it integrate with your shop, marketplaces and ERP? Check the native integrations with the tools you actually use, and whether there is an API for the rest.
- What does it really cost at your volume? Add up the subscription, any per-label or per-shipment fee and any markup on the courier rate: that is the only fair comparison.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a shipping platform and a shipping broker?
A shipping platform is software that uses your own courier contracts; a broker resells shipments at its own rates. With a platform you pay for the software and the courier separately; with a broker you pay the broker for the shipment.
Does Qapla’ sell shipping labels or rates?
No. Qapla’ does not sell shipments and has no rates of its own: it works with the contracts you already have and helps you compare their rates and check their invoices.
Which shipping software suits a store that is just starting?
If you do not have courier contracts yet, a tool with ready-made rates lets you ship straight away. As volumes grow and you negotiate your own contracts, a platform that uses them gives you more control over costs and customer communication.
Can I manage several couriers from one panel?
Yes, that is exactly what these platforms do: one panel to print labels and track shipments from different couriers.
